Candy Striper
Bake Back America created Candy Striper as a platform for volunteers to connect with recipients facing medical challenges and emotional stress. This initiative encourages a long lasting friendship through weekly communication and bonding sessions. It also addresses the basic needs that families struggle with like food and clothing while they are under emotional distress from their unfortunate situation.
My name is Abby Zaroff and I am excited to help children feel better during these difficult time. Unfortunately, I have had a family member who also faced these challenges and having mentors, therapy dogs, and different crafts and games cheered her up during the hard times. I deeply enjoy helping others and putting smiles on children’s faces. My goal is to make a difference in people’s lives.

Inspirational
Scarlett was diagnosed with T Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of pediatric cancer, at age 6. Aware of the sacrifices children and their families had made before them to make Scarlett's treatment possible, the James Family is inspired to help children that follow behind Scarlett with the hope that their treatment is less lengthy, less intense and less toxic. The money raised is being used to research novel targeted therapies which have great potential. Because these therapies target cancer cells, they reduce toxicity to healthy tissues and decrease long terms side effects. This is especially important for growing children.
